CATE: CALIFORNIA ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY EXCHANGE
The Federal Assistive Technology (AT) Act requires each state to support and finance activities that increase access to and funding for assistive technology devices and services by people with disabilities.
The grant is comprised of three programs:
1- AT Device Loan Program
2- AT Loan Reutilization Program, both supported by federal funds
3- AT Loan Guarantee Program, which is supported solely by state funds
CATE worked with 10 community-based organizations across the state to ensure that Californians with disabilities know about the program and have access to them
Community Resources for Independent Living (CRIL) in Hayward is one of those 10 community-based organizations that is providing such devices
