Healthy Women Project:

Studies have shown women with physical disabilities are less likely than women without disabilities to participate in regular breast and cervical cancer screening.  Getting these screenings regularly is essential, since early detection of cancer can save your life.

CRIL conducted the Healthy Women Project to increase screening rates for breast and cervical cancer among women with physical disabilities in our community.

Our goal was to provide women with the tools and support they need to overcome the obstacles they face to screening, while tracking which activities motivated them the most.  We set out to collect data, create materials and record lessons that will contribute to the effort to understand and improve healthcare access for women with disabilities.
